Quick Start Guide


Thank you for chossing our product AirID.

This guide explains all the basics of the certgate wireless smartcard reader AirID and gives you step-by-steps instructions to get you started using AirID. Please take the time to read the information and follow carefully the instructions and recommendations of the installation process.

Intended Use

AirID is a wireless smart card reader which you can carry with you anytime (around the work). The AirID reader communicates via a secure Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) connection with your device and makes the inserted smart card available for cryptographical operations such as data encryption or authentication.

General Features


Your AirID is a wireless smart card reader for ID-1 smart cards which can be used via BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) and USB.

Following status indicators exists on AirID

Menu

SettingMeaning
AirID - show the card status
Initialize

The smart card will be initialized. This message will be displayed for a very short time.
Card OK

The smart card is inserted and readable.

If the AirID is connected with a device, the name of this will be displayed.

Card unreadable

The inserted smart card is unreadable. Please make sure that the smart card is correctly inserted and iAirID supports the smart card.
Connection - used to activate and deactivate the Bluetooth connection
Initialize

The Bluetooth connection will be initialized and the advertising mode activated. This message will be displayed for a very short time.
ON/ waiting

The Bluetooth connection and the advertising mode are activated and AirID is waiting to establish the connection.
Bonding

AirID is successfully connected to a device. This message will be dislayed for a very short time.
Connected

AirID is connected to a device.
Disconnecting

Pressing the jog dial will terminate the connection.
OFF

Bluetooth and advertising mode are deactivate. Pressing the jog dial will activated these.
Pairing Code - is used only during the first connection establishment with a device
Pairing Code

A pairing code is displayed and you will have to type it into your device

Quick Start


Charging

Ensure battery is completely charged. AirID is powered by a rechargeable Li-Po baterry. The baterry is charged by plugging the AirID into either a computer or external USB wall adapter using the USB cable provided.

Power On

Insert the smart card to power on the reader.

Initiate Pairing

Choose "Connection" to activate Bluetooth on AirID.  

Pairing

AirID will be listed with its serial number on the BLE devices list. Press "Pair" and enter 6 digit pairing key shown on AirID display.

AirID need to be paired through an app on iOS and Android and through device settings on WIndows.

Pairing complete

After succesfully pairing "Pairing success" will be displayed on AirID

AirID is now connected with your device and the device name is displayed.
