Question

Can I use ONEKEY ID to read third party NFC tags?

Answer

NO, ONEKEY ID's NFC capabilities (V4, February 2018) provide only a passive NFC interface; this is currently not able to read other NFC tags.

ONEKEY ID's NFC capability depends directly on the (used) ID-000 smart card's NFC capabilities. The current version (V4, February 2018) of ONEKEY ID provides only a NFC antenna for NFC enabled ID-000 smart cards. Typical use cases for the NFC interface are smart card provisioning, battery-independent smart card read/write, 2FA, physical access, payments, etc.

If you need extended NFC capabilities, i.e. active NFC reader capabilities please check our CUSTOM ONEKEY. This will provide 100% customised capabilities, which will suits any of your needs.
