The Kerberos protocol encountered an error while attempting to use the smart card subsystem.

Please check your Windows Event Log for other errors reported. You should focus on the security and CAPI sections of the event log but make sure to have a look at the other sections as well. Usually another error precedes this one containing more detailed information.
