How can I get more information in Windows Events in regards to certificate operations such as smart card logon
Answer
By activating the so-called CAPI2 Logging. After it is activated you will see alot of certificate events from random sources, such as Teams, Windows and even your smart card logon.
Step-by-Step
Please follow the steps below to enable CAPI2 Logging
- Open the Event Viewer (Windows Key + X > select "Event Viewer")
- Go to Applications and Services Logs\Microsoft\Windows\
- Search for the Entry called "CAPI2" and unfold (Picture 1)
- Right click on the "operational" entry
- Select activate log
