Question

Which applet does AirID recommend for use with Java Cards?

Answer

AirID recommends the use of GIDS smart card applet. This is a java card applet which was developed according the specification GIDS 2.0 (Generic Identity Device Specification). It provides a generic identity command set for interaction with smart cards that are used for identity applications.

After loading the GIDS applet onto your Java Card, you have a PKI smart card whose driver (Minidriver) is integrated on each Windows since Windows 7 SP1. The GIDS smart card can also be used on other operating systems, like Linux, MacOS, with OpenSC.

More information on GIDS can be found at:

AirID's wireless smart card reader, ONEKEY ID, is delivered with an inserted java card loaded with GIDS Applet.
