AirID Virtual - Installation - Client Computer

APIIDA Mobile Authentication’s certificate logon is limited to Windows right now. MacOS and Linux are on our roadmap. Please get in touch with us if you need those two operating systems to complete your roll out of Mobile Authentication. We would love to add you to our Beta users as soon as a version for the OS you need is available.

The client components of APIIDA Mobile Authentication are available as a standard Windows installer via our download page.

There are serveral ways on how to distribute and install them

1. Distribution of the *.msi package with any Enterprise Software Delivery (ESD) solution and automated install (preferred)

2. Direct download of the executables from a central repository by the user and manual installation (may be error prone, thus not advisable)

For guidance on how to setup the deployment using Microsoft Group Policies please consult the documentation provided by Microsoft. The provided installer is capable of silent installs.

Hardware Requirements

Basically, each and any client hardware that is capable of running Windows 10 is able to be used with APIIDA Mobile Authentication. Preferably, the device features an on-board Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) interface. If there is no on-board Bluetooth interface available there are a USB dongles that act like built in BLE interfaces. To make sure your USB dongle works with APIIDA Mobile Authentication, please contact our support and provide the make and model of your dongle.

Software Requirements

APIIDA provides a client installer, that installs all necessary client components like smartcard drivers or the custom credential provider.
